Buyers Remorse Pills

I used to give my clients a jar of the Buyers Remorse Pills, delivered with a sales contract signed already by all parties. That's the time when the remorse process quite often begins. Of course everyone in real estate knows about buyers remorse. Many agents even make their clients aware that it is normal to have a sleepless night after having an offer accepted. But no one else, beside me, in my area at least, was giving people Buyers Remorse Pills...

These jars were filled with M&M candies. They were colorful, yummy and very silly. They made buyers feel more normal (they knew those feeleng were expected) -- and they made the whole process of explaining it fun. For me and for them.'

Those pills also made me look thoughtful, resourceful and unique. Not bad, eh? Indeed my Buyers Remorse Pills made me very attractive in the eyes of my buyers and they brought me many referrals.

By the way... they were also cheap and easy to produce.
Here is my simple, step-by-step process:

  • Take a small jar (I collected various sizes of jam and peanut butter jars) -- of course clean it nicely and remove all labels...

  • Fill with M&M candies -- or any other candies you prefer. Life savers work well, but in my experience people liked the most M&M candies...

  • Print the labels. You can use the label above or print the entire page of labels here.

  • Cut out the label and sign it as a doctor *LEGIBLY*. You want to make sure that even friends of your buyers can read it, maybe even remember your name!

  • Place the label on the jar -- regular rubber cement will work just fine. You can of course print this labels on Avery stock (look for dimensions 3x2)

  • If you want to be really fancy (I was), paint the lid with a spray paint in your official business colors (ie. blue or red for RE/MAX, brown or gold for Century 21, green for BH&G etc.) -- and add a little logo of your company on the lid.
Please remember that handing people these Buyers Remorse Pills is not enough. Not nearly enough.... It is your attitude towards others that can make you attractive. It is developing a cheerful and upbeat personality. BEING the type of person someone would want to do business with.

Needless to say, this is what I call a SANE marketing strategy!
